The aim of this experiment was to examine the effect different instructional strategies on student teachers’ confirmation bias. Confirmation bias refers selectivity in finding and using evidence that fits one’s own beliefs or hypotheses while neglecting is opposite (Nickerson, 1998). Adaptive Hypermedia Based on Metaphors as an Instructional Strategy

Analogy and metaphor can be a powerful instructional strategy when used as cognitive tools. In a previous work, we have described a learning environment based on analogy and metaphor and on concept mapping as instructional strategies. In this paper, we concentrate on the hypermedia part of this environment, and we describe the analogy links, the adaptation to the user and a prototype realized f...

Adoption as an offspring strategy to reduce ectoparasite exposure.

Adoption occurs frequently in colonial species where both the cost of parasitism and the opportunity for dependent young to find a foster family are typically high. The Importance of Narrative as an Affective Instructional Strategy

Virtual simulations, computer games, and other game-like virtual worlds are progressively being adopted for “serious” purposes, such as training and education. Computer-based training systems and games share many similarities: both involve a progression of skill-based activities of increasing complexity and difficulty. The learner is expected, over the duration of the game, to master a set of s...
